Alfie who visits a "Thunderbolt Base" and gets
a guided tour of Col Schilling's personal P-47D-25 "Hairless
Joe". The location is Boxted, and it was filmed sometime
between
Dec 24th 1944 and Jan 5th 1945, most likely at Christmas.

A lucky young visitor to Boxted gets a guided tour of
"Hairless Joe" by Dave Schilling.
As well as Schilling, six pilots feature in the short Pathe
News clip.
Mike Jackson, Warren Lear, Robert Winters and Hershel Womack
are four of them but the other two remain unidentified
at the moment. If you recognise either of them, or know
